Last Sunday night at Gardens by the Bay, beneath a sky lit with fireworks and hope, we celebrated SG60 with?close to?35,000 people, standing proud as one. ? The seventh edition of Gardens by the Bay and Mediacorp National Day Concert 2025, graced by Mr Tharman Shanmugaratnam, President of the Republic of Singapore and Ms Jane Ittogi, was more than just a show. It was a celebration of who we are — a people of resilience, united in our rich multicultural fabric, and always ready to forge ahead with courage?and?optimism through every challenge. From timeless classics to fresh new voices, every note that rang out across The Meadow carried our collective story. ? We are deeply honoured to have hosted this special milestone event in the heart of the Gardens - a space built by many hands and hearts, for all to enjoy. Seeing families, friends, and strangers-turned-fellow-singalongers gathered under the stars reminded us why we do what we do. ? To everyone who came, performed, tuned in, or played a part behind the scenes, thank you for making this SG60 edition a night to remember. ? Here’s to the next chapter of our Singapore story. Majulah Singapura!? ? #SG60 #NationalDayConcert2025 #GardensbytheBay #MajulahSingapura #OnePeopleOneNationOneSingapore

Last evening, we unveiled two spectacular experiences in the lead-up to Singapore’s SG60 milestone?–?the Orchid Extravaganza?floral display, and?SPARK – graced by Minister of State for Trade and Industry and National Development Alvin Tan. This year’s Orchid Extravaganza pays vibrant tribute to our national heritage by reimagining familiar Singaporean icons through the orchid – a bloom that is deeply woven into our identity. From three towering Supertrees adorned with orchids and a Peranakan-inspired floral setting, to recreations of?Cultural Medallion recipient Lee Hock Moh’s?orchid masterpieces, this floral display showcases the orchid’s enduring presence throughout Singapore’s history and celebrates what it means to be Singaporean.? On the same evening, we also launched SPARK, a stunning light installation by internationally acclaimed Dutch artist Daan Roosegaarde, in collaboration with the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Singapore. Making its Southeast Asian debut at Gardens by the Bay, SPARK transforms the Supertree Grove Lawn into a mesmerising spectacle with thousands of silent, floating light sparks resembling fireflies. This free light show is on for a limited time only – catch it from now till 3 August! Come experience these extraordinary showcases and celebrate SG60 with us in a truly unforgettable way at the Gardens!

Modest in form but mighty in impact, mangroves are changing the game on the climate action front. These extraordinary plants support biodiversity, protect coastlines from erosion and rising sea levels, and store impressive amounts of carbon – making them a force to be reckoned with in the fight against climate change. 26 July marks the International Day for the Conservation of the Mangrove Ecosystem – a timely reminder to reflect on the importance of protecting these vital ecosystems for the health of our planet and well-being of future generations. At Gardens by the Bay, the Kingfisher Wetlands offers a rare opportunity to experience a thriving mangrove habitat in the heart of downtown Singapore. A living laboratory for studying urban wetlands’ potential as carbon sinks, this freshwater sanctuary offers valuable insights into how man-made wetlands can serve as effective nature-based solutions to climate challenges. On your next visit to the Gardens, take a moment to explore Kingfisher Wetlands and discover our diverse mangrove collection.?

?? Blooming Connections, Growing Communities??? ? Last Sunday was truly special. We began our three-year journey with Youth Corps Singapore in the most heartwarming way — with Youths in Bloom, a beautiful day that brought together 300 passionate youth volunteers and 300 clients from eight community partners. ? The signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was witnessed by Mdm Rahayu Mahzam, Minister of State for Ministry of Digital Development and Information and Ministry of Health, and Chairperson of the Youth Corps Singapore Advisory Committee. ? Youths in Bloom will grow into our annual signature event, scaling our Gift of Gardens to build an even more inclusive community. Through this initiative, we hope more youths can discover the amazing power of nature as a meaningful lever for service and human connection. This year’s programme was filled with much joy and laughter: a spirited Community Walk flag-off, awe-inspiring visits to the Flower Dome and Cloud Forest, and engaging activities at Flower Field. This also marked the highest number of volunteers ever mobilised for Gift of Gardens. ? But this partnership goes beyond a single day. Together with Youth Corps Singapore, we will be rolling out several impactful programmes: ? ?? Garden Explorers — Volunteers will guide children aged 7-12 from underprivileged?backgrounds on immersive journeys through the Flower Dome and Cloud Forest during the school holidays, sparking curiosity and a love for nature. ? ?? CNY Garden Trails — Youth Corps volunteers will accompany seniors on guided walks through Gardens by the Bay, building heartfelt connections through conversations and activities around the exhibits. ? ?? Visually Impaired Sensory Tour — Specially trained Gardens volunteers with youth befrienders will bring visually impaired visitors on multi-sensory explorations of the Gardens. ? Moments like these remind us how powerful it is when communities come together to uplift, include, and inspire one another. We’re incredibly excited for the journey ahead and can’t wait to create even more meaningful memories with Youth Corps Singapore. This morning, we unveiled Rose Romance, a brand-new floral display at Flower Dome. ? Presented in collaboration with the British High Commission in Singapore, Rose Romance commemorates 60 years of diplomatic relations between Singapore and the United Kingdom and celebrates the world’s most beloved bloom: the rose. ? Long associated with the English and romance, the rose takes centre stage in a stunning showcase featuring over 15,000 blooms across 65 varieties, set against a charming castle-village landscape inspired by the medieval legend of King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table. Beyond Arthurian myths is a charming Tudor-style house – a reference to the War of the Roses, a civil conflict symbolised by the red and white roses, which ended with the founding of the glorious Tudor era. ? Other highlights include two suits of knight armour and a sword on public display for the first time, generously loaned by the British Club in Singapore. Visitors can also look forward to a special 30-minute performance by The Band of His Majesty’s Royal Marines Portsmouth from the United Kingdom. Catch them in action on Sunday, June 29 at 2pm, as they march from Supertree Grove to Flower Dome in a brilliant musical display. ? Come embark on a romantic adventure through one of Western literature’s most legendary tales at Rose Romance, and fall in love with the rose all over again! ? ????Friday, 27 June – Sunday 20 July 2025 ???Flower Dome, Gardens by the Bay ? #gardensbythebay #RoseRomance #FlowerDome
